The healthcare segment known as HKE Society was founded in 1980 and operates from its campus in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, and the Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital is one of its branches and notable establishments. This affiliated college, recognised by the Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH), presents many homoeopathic programmes in its vast area of 11 acres. A good number of books have been classified, arranged and stored in the library, which is staffed by a qualified librarian. The university provides e-books and e-journals through the HELINET consortium of the Digital Library at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Accommodating the inpatient practical activities is a 49-bed inpatient department in the college hospital with all the equipment as recommended by the CCH. There are also well-equipped laboratory facilities for each department where students get practical experience within the subject that they are studying.

Dr. Maalakaraddy Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital of HKE Society is offering six full-time courses in total. The flagship programme is the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), having a total seat intake of one hundred. However, the college offers five postgraduate courses of 3 years each, specialised in their own field. These are degree courses being MD in Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine and Philosophy, Repertory, Practice of Medicine, MD in Homoeopathic Paediatrics. 

The HKE Society’s Dr Maalakaraddy Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital admits students by admitting them to the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET). The BHMS programme requires NEET, while for other programmes, students are allowed to pursue the programmes of their choice, provided they have passed the minimum percentage as has been established by the college.
