Janata College, Boinda Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has provided 100-seated hostels for the ST and SC Boys under the SC&ST Development Department of the Government. of Odisha. The Hostel will start operating from this academic session.

The College Library has a rich collection of more than 7000 textbooks and 3000 reference books on a wide variety of subjects, along with books on religion, biography, and different types of dictionaries, encyclopedias, important articles, and very rare books. Library books are purchased either from publishers’ houses or local suppliers by the library purchase committee in consultation with the librarian and departmental faculty members.

The college has a well-equipped laboratory for use by the students for conducting practical classes in chemistry, physics, and biology. One Demonstrator and one laboratory attendant maintain each laboratory.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has Health and hygiene: There is no provision for a health care facility within the College campus. In case of an emergency, the students and staff are taken to the nearby Primary Health Centre, which is at a distance of one kilometer.

The college has an ICT centre which caters to the requirements of all the students who are interested in acquiring computer knowledge. Students are encouraged to get the open facility of computer education in the ICT Centre. The ICT centre has 09 computer systems with LAN facility and Broadband Connectivity.

The college has a playground attached to it. It is advised to all students to use the playground only during off-hours and not during when classes are in progress. If they want to use the playground during class hours, they must get written permission from the Principal, forwarded by the college PET.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has a convenience store facility for students. (like, photocopying facility & stationery, etc.)

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The students are advised to use the laboratory equipment with utmost care to avoid any hazardous occurrences. They must always use the aprons while conducting tests on hazardous materials and chemicals.

They must obtain the permission of the demonstrator to use the equipment and must carry out the practical under the supervision of the Demonstrator. Damages due to the student's negligence and careless handling of the equipment or the chemical will call for recovery and other punishment as per the law. The students must be in uniform to avail of laboratory facilities.

The classrooms must be kept clean and well-maintained. It is the responsibility of the college as well as the students to keep the classrooms free from outside interference. No student is allowed inside the classrooms without a proper uniform.

Mobile phones are not allowed inside the classrooms. If a student is found to have a mobile phone in spite of repeated warnings from the teacher concerned, he will be penalized as per the decision of the discipline committee. Students should maintain complete silence inside the classroom.

Chewing gums, beetle nuts, or any form of gutkha(pan masala) are strictly prohibited inside classrooms as well as in the college premises. All students must carry their identity cards while attending classes.
