Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences or GIMS Gadag is a renowed medical college located at Gadag in Karnataka and was established in the year 2014.It has a well qualified visiting faculty comprises of part-time faculty that can teach in various subjects across all semesters. 

GIMS Gadag has a well experienced teaching and non This college is affiliated to the government and is accredited by the National Medical Commission and follows the gas program for medical courses at various levels; undergraduate and postgraduate levels. GIMS Gadag is located in a vast area of 54 acres it has total strength of students 748 and total teaching staff 97. The institute offers 20 courses in 3 degrees and deals with diverse medical fields. GIMS Gadag is one of the co-education institutions that offer quality health education and services to its people.

This makes the institute to provide all facilities required in the growth and development of a student. There are boys hostels as well as girls’ hostels putting student comfort into consideration to meet their accommodation needs. A rich developed library acts as an information resource centre, and sophisticated laboratories as place for practical training. 

Student care is another core value at the college with a health center within the college and a fitness center. For academics and co curricular events GIMS Gadag has an auditorium facility and play ground. They include offices, standard classrooms, laboratories for practicals, computer laboratories, conference halls, a fountain, and a cafeteria for Students Meals. Technology facilities discover innovative approaches to teaching and learning; students’ families may stayed in guestrooms.

Out of the 20 courses offered by this college, all are full-time programs and known as GIMS Gadag. It’s the flagship course and it has a total of 150 seats offer for the course known as the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery [MBBS]. Further, the programmes offered at postgraduate level are MD and MS specialisations at the institute. The total approved intake across all courses has 748 students. As for the graduates for the latest year, their number is not given, yet the institute continues to prepare highly-qualified medical personnel for the healthcare industry.

The admission protocols in GIMS Gadag are universal and are merit-based. For the MBBS programme, there is a Uganda National entrance examination, that is, National eligibility cum entrance test (Neet Ug). MD and MS courses offered post graduate admissions as per AIIMS through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduates (NEET-PG). These national-level examinations help the Institute to ensure that the cream of society gets admission to this institute. 

The admission and examination schedule, which is at present is based on the national medical education framework calendar. Unfortunately, information concerning the scholarship offered by this institute is yet to be provided but, since the institute is a government institute, there are many ways that the institute may support talented students financially.
