KIT Tiptur: Admission 2026, Cutoff, Courses, Fees, Placements, Ranking

Kalpataru Institute of Technology, also known as KIT, was established in the year 1986 and is dedicated institution of Tiptur, Tumkur District, Karnataka. This college is affiliated with the AICTE and is spread across an area of 11 acres. The institution focuses on engineering and management courses. The institution has total of 1,474 students enrolment and male to female ration is equal with 48% male students enrolment and 52% female students enrolment. The institute also has 98 faculty members resulting in a good student-faculty ratio. KIT Tiptur offers 11 courses in engineering fields and management and is a part of 2 degree programmes.

As an organisation, the institute boasts of well equipped facilities to make the learning process easier for the students. To support learning facilities, the campus has equipped each department with laboratories in addition to offering practical learning. Established in the Administrative block, the library has a covered area of 1500 sq meters and contains 68,042 volumes of sciences and technological literature. For the health of students, numerous sports outfitted are present, like, big fields for cricket, foot ball and other games and indoor games for table tennis, badminton etc. are available in KIT Tiptur. It is a modern gym for performance that is also on the campus for fitness lovers.

At present, KIT Tiptur teaches eleven courses, namely six engineering undergraduate courses, 4 PhD coursesand one postgraduate management course. The undergraduate programmes offered are: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. For postgraduate education, the institute provides MBA programme. The capacity for these courses in this semester is 540 students and out of these Computer Science and Engineering course has the largest capacity at 180 students. 

The admission process in KIT Tiptur is in compliance with the guidelines set down by the Karnataka Government. Engineering programmes for admissions to undergraduate level for B.E/B.Tech are usually offered based on merit scores of Karnataka CET, COMEDK UGET, JEE Main or any other entrance test approved by government. As for MBA degree, the admissions happen after scoring in the PGCET, KMAT,  MAT examinations. The institute also has an opportunity for direct admissions to the Principals’ desk for some categories of students. Kit Tiptur has provided a list of scholarships in order to assist deserving students.
