Eligibility Criteria
The basic requirement for the eligibility to get the admission to BUMS program is qualifying the 12th Standard with science stream or any other equivalent examination recognized by the concerned state government and education boards, provided the candidates pass the examination with 50% aggregate marks in subjects of physics, chemistry, and biology.
Admission Details
- The selection for BUMS Course is made through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). The NEET is National level Undergraduate Medical Entrance exam, conducted by the Central Board of School Education (CBSE), for the selection of candidates for various Medical Courses including BUMS courses. Once the examination is conducted, a list of qualified candidates in order of All India Rank based on the score obtained in the examination is prepared by CBSE and the result is declared. A copy of the result is given to the Directorate General of Health Services (Medical Education Cell), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Government of India to provide the same to the admitting authorities.
- In case of J&K State, the admitting authority is J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) which is also the state-designated authority for counseling.
