The Kerala University College of Teacher Education, Alappuzha, which was started in 1990, is a constituent college of University of Kerala committed to impart quality education. Co-educational institution based in Aryad, Alappuzha, it occupies a tiny area of 1 acre and provides suitable concentration to the students who intend to become educators. The college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) right now the college is educating 95 students and 9 experienced teachers are available in the college. Apart from this the college having a vision of quality teacher education the college has been offering a professional course Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), that offers a sound platform for the teacher education aspirants to become leader in the field of teacher education.

The college is proud to present various amenities that aim to improve students’ progress through college. The library serves as an excellent source of learning materials and contains 8,935 volumes of primarily college textbooks, reference books, and educational encyclopedias. Also, it gives students access to eight educational journals so that they would stay informed on the current happenings in the field of teacher education. There are two good Sized Auditoriums available with one for 250 Student teachers and another for 100, which fulfills the need for extra space for academic and Cultural fests. Accompanying education and training, the institution provides students with department laboratories so that they can gain practical experience in the selected subject areas. The college also values physical health, sporting amenities and gym to retain the proper balance between study and workout. Besides, the campus serves with up to dated information technology learning equipment, so that the student adapts with current technologies in education.

On the direction of Kerala University College of Teacher Education, Alappuzha is to offer the best quality education in the course of B.Ed. This is a 2-year full-time course that provides a set of courses that help create efficient and passionate teachers. Currently, the college has a standard number of 50 students for this program in order to enhance one-on-one encounters and successful learning experiences.
