If you only want to study its the perfect college for you

Faculty: Though I've studied in kiit for not more than a year, I'd like to differ from rest of the answers on the quality of teachers. Every college has it's own share of good and unworthy teachers and kiit is no different. Barring a handful, most of the teachers were quite knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I could approach them anytime with any sort of academic queries and not once was I disappointed. Agreed that several of them had an egoistic attitude but a polite approach would never prove futile. Administration: It's certainly the worst aspect of kiit. It's almost impossible to get administrative work done without any hassles. Just to obtain a simple college leaving certificate, I had to circulate between infinite campuses of the university for a span of 6 days. Every single person in charge is quite arrogant and it would take a hell lot of efforts on your part to get even some petty work done. There's not a single clear guideline on several issues and more than often, the authorities themselves are confused. Students are often fined for the most trivial activities and the amount can range from INR 100 to 10000/-. It's easily understandable that how they are able to construct several new structures each year. Academics: Kiit seriously needs to improve in this area in order to compete with the likes of IIT'S/BITS/NIT'S. What I observed was that curriculum isn't demanding enough for engineering undergrads. One could easily ace an entire course in a span of few days. Add to that extremely lenient grading and you get loads of 9 pointers graduating out of kiit each year with zilch technical knowledge. Though this might seem the perfect recipe for an awesome undergrad life but reality strikes once you're out there in the real world where only your professional skills matter. I still remember how I spent an entire year hardly attending any classes and still managed to bag a cgpa of 9.3 by the end of the first year. Humongous intake of students each year is a major blow to the reputation of the institute Extra-curricular activities: Being an engineering college, it is a must for the administration to promote and encourage technical clubs and societies. What happens instead is that artistic and fashion societies are mushrooming each day which isn't a bad thing but technical clubs must be the priority. Robotics/aeronautical/baja sae clubs barely function for a couple of weeks during the national level events and that too with null funding. Such ignorance on the part of the administration is costing kiit it's repute. Moreover, the policy of not letting in first-year students into the societies is beyond my understanding. Such clubs give students an opportunity to interact with the seniors and explore the college life to the fullest, depriving freshers of such an opportunity is unfair on the part of the administration. Hostel-life: Though the hostel infrastructure is quite good and mess food is tolerable ( thanks to the regular non-veg items included in the menu ), the idea of keeping students on triple sharing basis is unacceptable. Students are matured enough and it's essential to respect their private space which is a trait the Indians usually seem to lack. This might seem insignificant at first but might have psychological implications in the long term. It's often awkward to see a bunch of 20-year-olds sharing a single room. Barring this anomaly, rest of the facilities are quite good. Each hostel is provided with a fully air-conditioned study rooms which can be a boon in summers as the Bhubaneshwar heat can prove unbearable at times. Each floor has got adequate bathrooms for the students and is regularly cleaned. CCTV's are installed in each floor which might seem irritating at first but help keep the thefts in check which isn't an uncommon phenomenon.

Good for CSE, ECE and it departments. But the hostel is available, but not good. Infrastructure and faculty are almost good. Placement of CSE department is very good, but other departments are not much better. This is situated at the of IT hubs. So, the playground is good to play outdoor games.

The collage is a knowledge hub, with all kinds of felicities , including friendly and cooperative staff. It is also nominated as the best engineering collage of Hariyana . But the collage lacks student density per class and could also improve its placement and training facilities. But every institute has its pros and cons. This is onw of the good collages and shall prosper in the future.
