Kumbi College, Kumbi established in 1981 is an affiliated college located at Bishnupur, Manpur. Situated at a total land area of 5.92 acres, this institution has got accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college targets the delivery of a wide choice of undergraduate courses, with 37 courses in six categories of degree. The college has 858 students and the male/female ration is nearly equal with 59% and 41% of male and female students respectively. The institution is proud to possess a pool of 83 faculty members to facilitate effective student-teacher ratio. Kumbi College has the stream of Arts, Science, and Vocational College for providing education to students of Manipur and other related states.

Kumbi College aims at creating a suitable learning ambience with the various resources in order to enhance student’s achievement within the college. The library, which is one of the important structural elements of the institution, is located in a separate building built with the help of funds issued within the framework of the UGC programme. It has a stock of approximately 5000 books and new ones are being added regularly, it also gets some update journals and periodicals. College are designed with facilities for the sports fans and physically active people such as Indoor Stadium and a mini gym which are built through the support of the UGC. Through these facilities students have been able to compete in different National Level games and sports events for Manipur University.

Kumbi College provides a rather large choice of undergraduate programmes, thus, thirty-seven courses in total are integrated into the college. Most of them are full time; this is in line with the college aim of offering intensive knowledge based courses. The following are the programmes being offered; under university programmes there is the degree in arts (BA), degree in Science (B.Sc), and vocational course (B.Voc). These are the commonly undertaken degree programmes as follows; Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, History, Education, and Economics Bachelor of Science in Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry. The college also has some more specialisations like B.Voc in Food Processing Technology and Agriculture to fulfil Industrial requirements of this region. Approved student intake for all courses is 632 students, which makes the distribution of students, human as well as other resources favourable and the quality of education in Kumbi College is therefore optimal.

Kumbi College has been producing great alumni in the past years the Kumbi College Alumni Association was launched in 2005. As a result this association provides opportunity for the graduates to have a link with the institution and support its development. It is established and affiliated to a college which offers quality education to its clients, the range of facilities it has established as well as the courses it offers makes it convenient for students who intend to gain higher education in Manipur to enroll in the college.
