Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy Mangalore was started in 1993 and is one of the premier colleges to offer physiotherapy courses. This affiliated college at Balmatta, Mangalore, Karnataka, has a specialisation in offering different courses in the stream of physiotherapy.  The university is affiliated with RGUHS. The college is proud of having a small area of 0 acres of campus and a total student population of 450. The faculty includes a total of 14 members; therefore, the students are provided with individual attention with effective education. Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy is a college that offers eight programmes in three levels of study that include bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes in physiotherapy.

Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy has put in place unique infrastructure to enhance the learning of students to achieve their potential. The hostels for girls and boys are built on the campus, showing a number of facilities like mess, tv watching, reading rooms and security, etc. It also has its own library with approximately 3000 books and subscriptions to professional journals and periodicals. On the health front, students have Medicare facilities in the A. J. Hospital and Research Institute for medical requirements for medical emergencies during study.

Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy conducts a variety of courses in the physiotherapy stream. The institute offers 8 courses comprising full-time courses, part-time courses and doctorate programmes. The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is the basic course under the bachelor’s programme. At the postgraduate level, college offers numerous MPT courses like Neurological and Psychosomatic Disorder, paediatric physiotherapy, Community physiotherapy and community-based rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary disorders and intensive care, Musculoskeletal disorder and sports. For those who would wish to venture into research, the college provides full-time and part-time Ph.D. in Physiotherapy.
