Maharaja Institute of Technology, Thandavapura is a pioneer engineering institute in the state of Karnataka. Established in 2016, the institute was founded by a group of eminent people recognised for their eminence in the field of science and engineering technology. MITT is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The institute is affiliated to the  Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi.

MITT offers various courses in the engineering and technology domains. The B.Tech programmes offered by the MITT are B.Tech Civil Engineering, B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering and B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The institute is offering MBA programme with specialisations in Financial Management & Marketing Management, Human Resource Management & Financial Management, and Marketing Management & Human Resource Management. The admission for the B.Tech courses will be given through the entrance exams - COMEDK UGET/KCET. while admission to MBA will be given on the basis of GMAT/Karnataka PGCET/ KMAT. 

MITT provides various facilities to its students. The facilities include a library, separate hostels for boys and girls, computer centre, well-equipped labs, sports and many more. The placement cell at MITT provides training and bridges the gap between students and Industry needs.the cell conducts the programs for all students to develop communication skills, problem solving skills and soft skills
