Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan Post Graduate Mahavidyalaya, Rampur, was established in the year 2005. It exists as an affiliated college in Uttar Pradesh, India. The institution has grown from strength to strength since its establishment over the spacious 5-acre campus. The college consists 982 students and a faculty of 27, having 16 courses that are conducted in 5 degree programmes.

At the heart of the various facility that improve the learning experience of its students is the Central Library, well-furnished and well-ventilated setup having a seating capacity for over 200 students. The library has approximately 2,500 books and serves as a teaching facility supporting students, researchers and teachers. For the sports enthusiasts, Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan Post Graduate Mahavidyalaya has highly appreciated sports facilities to play such sports as badminton, cricket, football, hockey, basketball among others. Every one of the sport clubs is given leadership by a university teacher to create an environment of physical fitness as well as one of teamwork. This college also provides its own fully supplied Chemistry and Biology laboratories, where students are allowed to participate in practical experiments for their subjects. In keeping with the demands of a rapidly advancing digital world, the institution has also provided for IT infrastructure to ensure students are well abreast with modern technological resources. 

In all, Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan Post Graduate Mahavidyalaya offers 16 courses and include only full-time programmes. The college has a sanctioned total intake of 2,210 in all of its courses, which shows that the stated college is comprised of a capacity to hold hundreds of aspiring students.

Admissions to Maharaja Prithvi Raj Chauhan Post Graduate Mahavidyalaya are course specific. For BA, there are interview rounds conducted prior to the final admission. B.El.Ed, which is four years degree in Elementary Teacher Education, provide admission on merit basis to the qualifying examination (10+2 senior secondary examination) and/or an entrance test.
