Affiliated to Kuvempu University, Jnana Sahyadri Shankaragattu Malur Kolar District of Karnataka state, Manasa B.Ed. College, Malur was established in 2016. This school for boys and girls is one of the private institutions which has been approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and is dedicated to offering teacher education. Based in a small plot of 1.065 acres, the college opened its doors to a single programme of study with a total enrolment of 300 students. Currently, sixteen members of the faculty teach at the institute; therefore, it has a reasonable teachers to students ratio. Manasa B.Ed. College aims groom professionals in teaching field and ensure that students graduate with excellence to face challenges in teaching field.

Jnana Sahyadri Shankaragattu Malur comprises of several facilities that supplement student learning and are briefly described below. It acts as a centre of resource whereby the students, the faculty, and other stakeholders get access to books, educational media and other forms of literature. To promote physical development and recreation, there are sporting amenities in both the master and the Barwa campus. There is also adequate and efficient IT facilities meaning the students get to work with the latest technologies in the college. The laboratories which are set in departmental bases introduce students to practical sessions and the auditorium sections serve as event/ seminar arena. Also, a health centre equipped with first aid facilities is functional enough to address the medical requirements of the students.

Manasa B.Ed. College offers a single full-time course: The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. This offered degree at two years’ duration will provide the student with all the theoretical and practical requirements to meet the challenges of teaching profession. Currently the programme has an approved intake capacity of one hundred seats to maximise teaching and learning. It is however hard to come by specific data on the graduations in the latest year but the college enrolment corresponds well with the intake capacity indicating a healthy demand for the programme.

The admission process of Manasa B.Ed. College students is also in line with the government rules and regulations of the state, the university, and any educational regulating body. Mostly its Chairman draws admission merit basis depending on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/ or entrance examination. The college may, however, include other forms of selection as it complies with the policies in the Karnataka state government and the affiliated university.
