Manipal School of Information Sciences is one of the premier constituent colleges of Manipal University, which began in the year 1998 and is located in the educational city of Manipal, Karnataka. This is a highly ranked college with a campus area of only 1 acre and firmly established in information technology. MSIS currently has seven postgraduate programmes each under the title of Master of Engineering (ME), to offer a total of 473 students. The institute boasts a dedicated team of twenty-two members of faculty, and the student/faculty ratio spearheads a unique era of student-focused learning.

Manipal School of Information Sciences has equipped different facilities which are intellectually progressive and aim at improving the student’s life and promoting academics. A number of well-equipped laboratories are located on the campus, so the learning in IT disciplines is quite practical. A large and diverse library exists to provide students with a variety of information to study. For any individuals eager to embrace the culture of exercise and bodybuilding, MSIS has put in place sports and gymnasium facilities. There is also an Auditorium for events and Seminars within the compound which encourages a busy academic society.

The institute benefits from a robust IT platform that informs its technology-related courses, as it helps students to adapt to a technologically advanced world. There are adequate hostels for the students of both sexes with STD facilities with a homelike environment, thus providing a home away from home facility.

Manipal School of Information Sciences continues to grow its academic portfolio to address the ever-changing needs of the IT market. It offers seven full-time Masters of Engineering programmes that take two years to complete. 

The admission to MSIS is very selective, and the admission is based strictly on merit, though there is an admission test known as the Manipal Entrance Test for M.Tech (MET M.Tech). This entrance examination could be an important determinant for students who would wish to join a programme of their choice.
