    In the "Business rules for Joint Seat Allocation" given by JOSSA it is clearly mentioned that you can not change your category at the time of registration in JOSSA website.

    If you belong to the general category, I am sorry to say that you will not be able to get a seat in any government colleges through JOSAA. Maybe you can try for some private colleges that are mentioned in JOSAA counselling. For further details you can check

    No with this percentile you have  a very low chance of getting into NIT. As ews is new category cutoff can vary for that this year and noone has exact idea about its cutoffs, but you can refer to previous year general cutoffs on the following link of NITs

    The closing rank for admission in NITs last year into BArch program was less than 1000 for OBC NCL category while for SPAs it was around 700. For BPlanning the cut-off went up slightly to 1200 in SPAs. This year's cut-offs are also expected to be similar. Hence,
