Master of Computer Application (MCA) is a three years full-time course postgraduate offered by University of Madras, Chennai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The admission to the course will be on the basis of assessment and suitability of the applicant in terms of Aptitude and IQ, Communication skills and general knowledge. This will be done by any one of the entrance examinations detailed below and through a Group Discussion and Personal interview.
Normal entry: Candidates who have passed the under-mentioned degree examinations of the University of Madras or examinations of other institution recognized by University of Madras as equivalent thereto provided they have undergone the course under 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 or 11+2+2 pattern, shall the eligibility for admission to the M.C.A Degree Course.B.C.A / B.E.S / B.Sc. in Computer Science / Mathematics/ Physics / Statistics / Applied Science or B. Com. / Bachelor of Bank Management / B.B.A / B.L.M. / B.A. Corporate Secretaryship / B.A. Economics / any other Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with Business Mathematic\s and Statistics or Mathematics / Statistics in Main / Allied level or B.Sc. Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as allied subjects or B.E. /B. Tech. / M.B.A. or A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the Higher Secondary Level (i.e. in +2 level of the 10+2 pattern).
Lateral Entry: Students who have completed a Bachelors degree of the minimum. years duration in BCA, B.Sc(IT/CS) with mathematics as a course at 10 +2 level or at graduate level shall alone be eligible for admission to MCA course.
