Millia Institute of Technology is the first institute of engineering in the Seemanchal region. Millia Institute of Technology was founded in 2002 by Millia Educational Trust (MET). The MIT is recognised by the government of Bihar. The Millia Institute of Technology is affiliated to Purnea University, Purnea. The MIT Institute  is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Delhi. Millia Institute of Technology is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the NBA. The Millia Institute of Technology offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and technology. MIT courses are offered on the basis of the Bihar CBECE entrance test for Bihar State candidates and for candidates outside Bihar State, admission is based on the All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by C.B.S.E, New Delhi.
