Millia Institute of Technology Purnea is the first institute of engineering in the Seemanchal region. Millia Institute of Technology was founded in 2002 by Millia Educational Trust (MET). MIT Purnea is recognised by the government of Bihar. The Millia Institute of Technology Purnea is affiliated to Bihar Engineering University, Patna and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Delhi. 

The Millia Institute of Technology Purnea offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and technology. MIT Purnea courses are offered on the basis of the Bihar BCECE entrance test for Bihar State candidates and for candidates outside Bihar State, admission is based on the All India Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by C.B.S.E, New Delhi.

The  Millia Institute of Technology Purnea has a number of modern amenities and facilities, such as a well-equipped library, a state-of-the-art computer lab, and separate hostels for boys and girls. Millia Institute of Technology Purnea strives to provide a holistic learning experience for its students.
