MKCG Medical College, also known as Madhusoodan Goldar Charitable Granthimaisai Kalyan Swaroop, is one of the leading medical colleges located in the Odisha State of India that was started in the year 1962. This is a government college which is located on a huge campus of 162 acres of land, and it is affiliated with Berhampur University and also approved by the National Medical Commission(NMC). The college hosts 28 courses in 6 degrees, with the main MBBS programme and a range of master’s degrees with specialisations. The total admission for the students in I and II MBBS is 1623, and the total strength of faculties in MKCG Medical College is 266.
MKCG Medical College has considerably equipped all its necessary facilities to assist in its academic programmes. The central library in the fully air-conditioned G+4 building since 2016 stocks the books, journals, and magazines. There are hostels for male and female students, and these are complemented with a cafeteria, visitor’s rooms and a recreation room, respectively. The medical facilities that are available in the college are an emergency ward with 30 beds and 10 casualty medical officers working in shifts that include eight hours per shift. Other facilities are a canteen, a facility for organising special occasions such as seminars, events, etc., and a bank with ATMs located within the compound. It has well-qualified faculties, efficient administrative and technical support, good infrastructure facilities, well-equipped laboratories, and audiovisual aids containing modern and long-developed methods in medical education. Being one of the government institutions in Odisha for providing medical education and health care facilities, MKCG Medical College is competent to build up the future health care professionals to contribute to society.
As far as the degrees offered by this college are concerned, it provides 28 medical courses for the courses with the tags of undergraduate, postgraduate and super-speciality levels. The mainstay of the Institute’s portfolio is the MBBS, which has an intake capacity of 250. Some of the postgraduate courses offered include MD/MS specialisations in anaesthesia, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery and many more. DM in Cardiology and Endocrinology and M.Ch in Plastic Surgery and Urology are also offered at the college as super-speciality courses. Further, there are Child Health & Orthopaedics diploma courses which diversify the range and scope of medical learning imparted.
The standard mechanism by which MKCG Medical College admits its students is through national-level competitive examinations. For the MBBS programme, the NEET-UG exam is used to give students an entry into the programme. All admissions to MD and MS courses are carried out after postgraduate examinations that will hence be assessed based on performance in NEET-PG. The super-speciality courses (DM & M.Ch.) as a rule admit students on the basis of NEET-SS examination clearance. Like any other institution, the college follows the political set-down reservation policies to promote the diversity of the students.

Our college is a respected institution offering undergraduate (MBBS), postgraduate (MD/MS), and diploma courses in medical sciences.it has a robust curriculum , facilities and regular exams to maintain high academic standards.
We have basic facilities available on the campus like a library, as well as a hostel library, Wi-Fi connection, laboratories, and smart classes taught through an e-learning approach. Accomodation and auditorium is available . Sports such as football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, and table tennis are offered, as well as a mess and canteen.
Yeah MKCG MCH has all the necessary infrastructure that u expect from a medical college. It has AC classrooms and libraries, a sports ground near the college and a indoor court for indoor games. Hostels are well maintained and within the college campus. Hostel food is not that much of satisfactory but not that bad . Living places are cleaned regularly .
