Located in the centre of Dehradun, Uttarakhand, MKP PG College was founded in the year 1958 and is one of the most premier educational institutions. This affiliated college has served the academic community with a sprawling campus of 15.8 acres for the past six decades. MKP PG College is NAAC-accredited and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a vast variety of fields. The college, with a total student enrolment of 3,219 and a faculty strength of 19, provides an environment conducive enough to enable an education of quality. There are 24 courses offered in 5 different degrees at the institute, which caters to a diverse academic interest and vocational aspiration.

Some of the undergraduate courses in huge demand are B.Com, B.Sc with Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry; BA in Hindi, History, Mathematics, Music, Home Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, and Political Science. Under the postgraduate courses, there are MAs in Psychology, English, Hindi, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Drawing and Painting, and Home Science, and MSc in Chemistry.

The admission process at MKP PG College is based on inclusiveness and merit. The college normally starts its admission process right after the results of the 12th standard are declared for undergraduate programs and right after graduation results for postgraduate courses. The academic performance in qualifying examinations is the main criterion of admission as per the consideration of the college.
