Mother Teresa College of Pharmacy, the name speaks itself established at Ghatkesar, hyderabad is the name of repute in the field of Pharmacy Education. This affiliated college was set up in 2006 and in the last 12 years, the college has played a pioneer role in the future of pharmacy successfully. Situated in a two acres of land, the college is imparting pharmacy courses approved by the PCI, in various programs. Mother Teresa College of Pharmacy with total student intake of 274 and faculty member of 42 offers a favorable environment to enhance the chemistry profession.
The college has various facilities that are up to date to supplement the various activities of the college. The library remains the backbone of the institution with a stock of 18,000 volumes of books, National and International journals and other reference documents. There is also an electronic library for e-books and e-journals so that end evaporating students can keep abreast with the latest published pharmaceutical literature. The computer lab is fully computerized with facilities such as internet for the students within the school compound 24 hours. Regarding practical skills development the college provides a list of skill-based laboratories in the specializations. The Pharmaceutics Labs include basic equipment like Tablet Compression Machines and Dissolution Test Apparatus; Pharmaceutical Chemistry Labs has sophisticated apparatus like UV/visible Double Beam Spectrophotometers and different HPLC systems.
The different types of pharmacy courses offered in Mother Teresa College of Pharmacy are to suit the various needs of the students. The institution provides three full-time programmes: In addition there is a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) and two Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) specialisations in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis. The B.Pharma programme, which is the basic pharmacy course, was given an approval to admit 100 students. There are a total of 15 seats available for each programme so that students can have a specialised course in the advanced area of pharmacy. This has increased the number of students admitted to 130 across all the programmes in preparation and training of would – be pharmacists at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Consequently, the admission process of Mother Teresa College of Pharmacy aims at identifying potential students to enrol for their programs. For the B.Pharma programme the admission criteria is mainly the TS EAMCET score obtained by the candidates. This set standard examination assesses the aptitude of candidates for pharmacy study. For postgraduate admissions, the college accepts scores from two key exams: the Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) & the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) etc. These exams help to check competency of students who want to enter to the M.Pharma programmes with adequate knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences.
