Mount Mary College of Higher Education, Chumukedima an affiliated college was established in 2011 at Dimapur, Nagaland. Established in 1997, this institution has a rather unusual name and is a co-educational school located on the territory of 1 acre and offering a choice of academic programmes. The college is recognised by National Council for Teacher Education and offering 31 programmes comprising 10 courses. This college has the total number of students 534 and the faculty of 17 members that is why Mount Mary College has carefully selected environment. To meet the diverse needs of every student, the institution provides the following departmentalisation: Education, Sociology, Political Science, History, Economics, English, Commerce, and Computer Applications.

Mount Mary College of Higher Education possesses a rich list of available facilities which are intended to contribute to the process of education of learners. It is a policy that the library act as a resource centre with internet facilities, books, and educational journals with an approximate of 4,000 volumes of books in addition to educational internet journAls. The college also attaches considerable value to the role of technology in learning as it has a fully computerised ICT room with 30 computers that enables the students make practical use to all aspects of the IT equipment. In as much as the college wishes everyone well in their respective endeavours, it promotes the conduct of various games and sporting activities for those interested in sports. It equally has functional psychology laboratories to enable the students avail sophisticated testing and experimenting gears.

Mount Mary College has diversified courses of study in different disciplines, to be precise, there are 31 courses being offered. These include full time Under Graduate programmes like, BA/ B.Com/ B.Sc/ B.Ed and honours subjects in Sociology, Political Science, History, Education, Economics, English, Management and Accountancy. There is also the following diploma and certificate awards offered by the college namely; DCA, PGDCA and other speciality diplomas such as Computer Hardware and Networking, Entrepreneurial Development and Nursery Teacher. 

The type of admission that Mt. Mary College has, differs from one programme to the other. In case of B.ED programme, admissions are provided within the general norms in reference to the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests as per the existing state government and university norms.
