Mythri College of Education is an affiliated college, situated in Shivamogga, Karnataka, India which was started in the year 2005. This institution which was recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education-NCTE and focuses mainly on teacher education. The college occupies a small area of 0.7121 acres and the college provides valuable, and specific learning opportunity for the future educators. At present, Mythri College of Education has a total student intake of 66, and it has a faculty strength of 8. At the moment, the college offers only one award programme, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), that systematically pointing to the college’s commitment to the training of teachers.

Mythri College of Education prides in having some facility that caters to the improvement of the performance of the students in their college. A well furnished library possessing more than five thousands books, new editions of encyclopedias, reference books, newspapers, magazines and periodicals etc. The library is automated with a computerised section, a newly acquired section and a reading area. The college also has individual practical psychology laboratories, education technology, and science laboratories with more adequate instruments required in demonstration and practical exercises. Computer literacy is achieved through the use of modern software in computer laboratory and qualified instructors.

Mythri College of Education offers a single full-time course, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This is a two-year programme and the college has been approved to take 50 students for this programme to improve the quality of the programme by controlling the number of students in every class. The course description of B.Ed is developed in accordance with the concept of capacity building of the students to teach at various levels.

Admission to Mythri College of Education is on merit basis as per policies followed at state government and university level. Right from the admission policy, the seats are filled based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination or subject to any other admission procedure as said by the State Government/UT administration and as per the university norms. This allows the college to consider only the most competent and interested candidates to the B.Ed programme.
