Nagar School of Optometry was established in 2004 as an affiliated college. This institute is exclusively occupied with the subject of Optometry at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The compact campus area covers 0.35996 acres, where it houses 153 students and provides them with a focused learning environment. Spread across this compact area, the institute has a faculty strength of 15 members who provide their personal attention to students studying Optometry. 

The Nagar School of Optometry has several facilities that help improving learning. Among them, the library stands centrally and ranks among the most well-furnished optometry libraries in the country. This library comprises a collection that caters to almost all specialty branches of optometry with relevant textbooks and reference books, international journals on the subjects of optometry, visual science, and ophthalmology. Excellent reading facilities and access to computers connected to the Internet are available to students. The College also possesses well-supplied laboratories that form a central part of practical training. This includes the practical laboratory for clinical skills training, well-equipped with advanced instruments concerning dispensing, refraction, contact lenses, low vision, binocular vision, and orthoptics. Specialized laboratories are found in the areas of physical and geometrical optics, ocular and general anatomy, and computer studies.

Nagar School of Optometry offers two courses, both full-time: one at the undergraduate level and another at the postgraduate level. An undergraduate four-year course in B.Optom and a postgraduate two-year course in M.Optom are offered by this institution. Both programs provide comprehensive education in optometry and help students seek success in the chosen field of pursuits. The institute has a total enrollment of 153 students in order to ensure that there is a proper student-to-faculty ratio to ensure quality education.

Admissions into both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of Nagar School of Optometry are through various modes. For the B.Optom course, admissions take place through the GUJ-CAT examination, which is a centralized admission test conducted by Gujarat University for medical streams.
