The Narasu's Sarathy Institute of Technology, Salem is a recognised university. It was established in the year 2008 and accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. NSIT Salem is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. The university offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the stream of Engineering and Architecture. B.E courses are offered in various specialisations such as Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, and Civil Engineering. The college offers M.E courses in two specialisations: Computer Science and Engineering and VLSI design.

The GATE exam can help the candidates to get admission to M.E courses. The candidates can also appear for any equivalent examination for UG and PG courses. The admissions at Narasu's Sarathy Institute of Technology Salem are based on the TNEA Counselling. The NSIT Salem campus has a separate placement cell to handle all the placement activities.
