    About National Dental College and Hospital, Mohali

    National Dental College and Hospital (NDCH), was set up in the year 1999 and is one of the most credible dental colleges of the country is in the city of Mohial, Punjab. This affiliated college approved by the Dental Council of India, offers various undergraduate and post graduate dental courses. Located on an area of approximately 6 acres, NDCH has total intake capacity of 390 students and 123 faculties. The institute is co-educational and it offers 7 courses at 2 degree levels. The dental hospital is recognised specially in various specialties of dentistry such as Periodontology, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and Orthodontics.

    National Dental College and Hospital  boasts of fully equipped facilities as a way of creating right atmosphere for learning as dictated by the modern College. NDCH provides a separate hostel for boy’s as well as girls so that out of town students can easily get accommodations. This campus possesses a rich library, technologically sophisticated laboratories, and information technology that is adequate to support today’s dental college or university. Towards all round development the college has facilities for indoor games /outdoor games and an auditorium programme and cultural activities. A health center with first aid facility has been provided to take care of the prima facie health of the students. The college also provides for a cafeteria, in addition to transport facilities for the students and members of staff.

    At present, NDCH provides nearly all the dental courses such as bachelor’s degree and master courses. The BDS is the main university degree for dentists and the college offers various MDS specialisations. These include MDS in Periodontology, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry & preventive dentistry, Orthodontics & dental facial orthopaedics, and Crown & bridge /Prosthodontics. All programmes are offered full time, BDS is a 5 years programme while the MDS programmes are 3 years. The total intake for all the courses sanctioned is 120 and while 100 seats are offered for BDS, the rest are offered for various “top sports” for the MDS course.

    Admission requirements in NDCH have specific guidelines set by regulatory body, and the management follows the merit system technique. For the BDS program, NEET is the main basis for admission. Likewise, in the case of MDS programs, the score of NEET – MDS is taken into account. Standard and fair admission process is practiced through these national level entrance exams.
