National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) is an autonomous body of the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Govt. of India inaugurated in 2009. NIELIT Agartala is affiliated with Tripura University and approved by AICTE. The NIELIT Agartala Centre is the 11th Centre of NIELIT (formerly DOEACC Society) in the country and the 5th in the North-Eastern Region. NIELIT Agartala offers both formal and non-formal courses at different levels and streams of IECT.

Courses include Diploma in Computer Science and Technology, Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Application, and M.Sc. Information Technology.
