National Institute of Virology, established in 1952 in Pune, Maharashtra, stands as a pioneering institution in the realm of virological research and training in India. Initially known as Virus Research Centre (VRC), it was established under the collaborative efforts of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Rockefeller Foundation (RF), USA.
National Institute of Virology, Pune offers various courses in the field of virological disciplines. The courses offered include MSc Virology, PhD in (Biochemistry, Basic Medical Science, Microbiology and Zoology) and M.Phil in (Biotechnology and Basic Medical Science). The institute is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University.

As of now no detailed information related to admission of MSc Virology has been updated at the official website of National Institute of Virology, you can stay updated at https://www.niv.co.in/ for more details regarding this, but as per the syllabus of last year exam pattern, the syllabus has two part out of which the first one is of 20 marks carrying 10 questions pertaining to general awareness, and second part is of 80 marks carrying 40 questions mainly from areas of graduate level life science subjects such as biotechnology, microbiology, botany, zoology, medicine, veterinary science. The eligibility criteria for the course is passed bachelor's degree in any discipline of zoology, botany, biotechnology, microbiology, chemistry, veterinary science with 60% aggregate, in case of reserved categories there is relaxation of 5%.

As per your question according to the data The entrance exam for the virology course is conducted by
the Pune university. This entrance examination is conducted in online mode. It comprises of 100
questions. 80 questions are from your graduation course.
Remaining 20 are 10th class level maths ..like reasoning, speed and time, age , coding and decoding,etc.
the problem level is moderate. With hardwork and smart work this exam are often easily cleared.
Entrance exams for the course - There are 100 Multiple Choice Questions of every carrying 2 marks each
and negative marking of 0.5 marks per wrong answer conducted by the institute wherein All questions
are compulsory.
The questions contain 20 questions on +2(HSC) level in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and arithmetic and
80 questions on degree-level bioscience subjects that include bioscience , Botany, Microbiology,
Zoology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Medical Sciences and Veterinary Science.
