NIV Pune admissions are provided to M.Sc. Virology, Ph.D and M.Phil courses. National Institute of Virology Pune admission to MSc Virology, M.Phil and PhD programmes are offered through an Online Entrance Examination (OEE) conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). 

Candidates with CSIR-NET, ICMR-JRF, UGC-NET, DBT-JRF, or DST-Inspire fellowships are eligible to enrol for the Ph.D programme at National Institute of Virology Pune. NIV Pune Registrations 2026

• Candidates who are interested in admission to the courses must meet the specific eligibility criteria for each course. 

• Candidates who are eligible are required to fill out the application form on the college's official website. 

• The application form must be completed with all the necessary information

• Once the application form is filled out, it should be submitted with the given instructions.

M.Sc Virology and M.Phil courses are offered at the postgraduate level with a duration of 2 years at NIV Pune. To get admission to these courses, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria.

ICMR NIV PG Course and Eligibility Criteria

ICMR NIV Admission Process 2025-2026 for PG Courses

• Eligible candidates are required to register and fill an online application form by entering required details, uploading required documents and paying the application fee. 

• Successfully registered candidates are issued an admit card, which can be downloaded from the official website of NIV Pune. 

• Candidates need to appear for the Online Entrance Examination (OEE) at the designated exam centres. 

• The authority declares the result in the form of a merit list. 

• The merit list includes candidates' rank obtained, name, course name, course code, application number, marks, and category, among other details.

• Qualified candidates are called for the counselling process. 

• Shortlisted candidates are required to submit admission fees to secure their seats in the institute. 

Ph.D in Biochemistry, Basic Medical Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Zoology with a duration of 6 years is offered at NIV Pune. Applicants who are interested in Ph.D course must meet the eligibility requirements.

ICMR NIV Ph.D Course and Eligibility Criteria

National Institute of Virology Ph.D Admission Process 2025-2026

• Candidates have to fill out the application with all necessary information and details.

• Aspirants with ICMR-JRF, UGC-NET, DBT-JRF, CSIR-NET, DST-Inspire fellowships are eligible to enrol for the PhD programme at ICMR-NIV through the SPPU.

• Eligible candidates have to appear for Ph.D Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the SPPU.

• Shortlisted candidates must pay admission fees to confirm their enrollment in the institute.
