National Power Training Institute, Durgapur was established in 1968. The college offers a total of 6 courses, of which 1 course is offered at the undergraduate level and the remaining courses  are offered at post diploma level. The NPTI Durgapur Admissions to UG courses is done based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination. The NPTI Durgapur Admissions to post diploma courses is done based on merit and interview. The college has the NPTI Durgapur placement cell that handles the placements of the students.

NPTI Durgapur Courses 

The college offers 2 courses in the branch of Power Electronics, 2 courses in the branch of Power Engineering, 1 course each in the branches of Power Management and Renewable Energy. The NPTI Durgapur Courses include B.E/ B.Tech, Post Diploma in Power System Operation, Post Diploma in Smart Grid Technologies, Post Diploma in Power Management, and many more. The duration of the courses lasts from 1 year to 4 years.

NPTI Durgapur Admissions 

The college offers admission to undergraduate programmes and post-diploma programmes. The candidate must meet the NPTI eligibility criteria to apply for the courses. The NPTI Durgapur UG selection process includes shortlisting the candidates based on their performance in the entrance examination. Unlike UG Courses, The NPTI Durgapur diploma admissions are done based on the scores of the candidate in the qualifying examination. Then the candidate attends the counselling process followed by document verification and fee payment.

The candidates should meet the NPTI Durgapur cutoff for admission to the college. The college releases a fresh cut-off every year. If the candidates meet the NPTI Durgapur cutoff then he/ she can apply for the counselling process. The college offers facilities like a library, classroom, hostels, conference hall, laboratories and many more. The NPTI Durgapur facilities also include a recreation hall, guest house and open learning centres. The college offers two types of workshops which include a mechanical workshop and an electrical workshop. The NPTI Durgapur laboratory facilities include Computer labs, a Control & Instrumentation Lab, and a Certificate of Competency in Power Distribution labs.

The college is located in West Bengal. The station closest to NPTI is Durgapur Railway Station. Students can hire an automobile to get to NPTI West Bengal's campus in 9 minutes, despite it being 8 kilometres from Durgapur Railway Station. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, located 172.2 kilometres from NH 19, is the closest commercial airport to NPTI. Students who are travelling from Kolkata to Durgapur by bus can do so from the Esplanade Bus Stand and arrive on campus in around 3 hours.
