Nirmala College of Nursing located in Bhadravathi Shivamogga District of Karnataka started in 2011 is an Affiliated College. This institution, approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), specialises in nursing education and offers two full-time programmes: B.Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). Located on a very limited plot of three acres the college at the moment offers education to 241 total registered students enrolled and is staffed by 6 faculty members. Nirmala College of Nursing aims for the enhancement of nursing education in the nation by maintaining quality education for future nursing profession and the rapidly growing healthcare sector.

B.Sc Nursing course of Syllabus and Award: Full time B.Sc Nursing course for four years with an intake of 40 students every year The GNM course is offered in two shifts and is a full time programme of four years for intake of 50 students. The two courses are specifically meant to enhance the students’ theoretical understanding and embodied skills for career practice in the nursing profession. These two programmes hold a total student intake capacity of 90 students , a factor that clearly shows that this college is strictly involved in training nurses. 

The admission procedures set in Nirmala College of Nursing are standard based, but they defer from programme to programme. Regarding the B.Sc Nursing course prospective candidates must be unmarried females and religious sisters get preference. To get into GNM programme the selection process is little sophisticated. The first step to get shortlisted is through the performance on qualifying exams. These shortlisted candidates have to sit for the entrance test lasting one hour and comprising of sections in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English and General Knowledge and an interview session.
