Nitte School of Architecture, Planning, and Design, Bangalore, founded in 2016, is one of the renowned institutes that provides knowledge of architecture, planning, and design and aims to develop creative stars in these respective fields of architecture. Situated in Yelahanka, Bangalore, this affiliated college runs with the Council of Architecture and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Situated on 2.51 acres of land, the institute has four diverse programmes that are B. Architecture, B. Planning, B. Design, and a Master of Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning. The school has a student strength of 218 and a faculty of 36, which gives enough attention to its learners who want to become architects and designers.
Nitte School of Architecture, Planning, and Design (NSAPD), Bangalore, is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and its programmes are approved by the Council of Architecture (CoA) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. It has made significant investments in quality teaching and learning facilities to give its learners value for their time. Wireless accessibility makes learning convenient for students’ activities to take place fully. The college library is a centralised learning resource centre that provides and disseminates printed as well as electronic materials such as books, e-books, journals, and e-journals, among others, through the KOHA automation system.
For the never-fully fortunate ones, there are different hostels for both male and female candidates, with each hosting more than a thousand candidates. It also provides accommodation facilities in twin and triple-sharing hostels and sustains vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets. The student community has an active cafeteria on the territory of the building where students often gather for conversations. It also has construction yards, a visual arts studio, a photography-developing dark room, and an environmental science laboratory, which enables the students to have practical sessions.
Nitte School of Architecture, Planning, and Design conducts a total of four full-time courses at multiple levels of study. Among these courses, the first-degree professional course, B.Arch, which lies at the base of education in architecture, takes 80 students. The B.Plan course offering in urban and regional planning takes 40 students per year. B.Design, the newest of the IITs, has a capacity of 60 students. At the postgraduate level, there is an M.Arch in Urban and Regional Planning, which has a total seat capacity of 30. These programmes are intended to effectively prepare students in their areas of focus by offering everything they will need to know to find a good job in areas such as architecture, planning, and design.
The mode of admission policy for the Nitte School of Architecture, Planning, and Design differs according to the course. For the B.Arch programme, the candidate is required to qualify for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The scores successfully considered for admissions under the B.Plan programme include CET (Common Entrance Test), COMEDK UGET, JEE Paper 2/3, or NATA.
The eligibility criteria of B.Design admit students through UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design), though not compulsory, but Con•Cept Institute may set its examination. The college also considers only JEE Main scores for some of the courses taken during the admission process. Also, the institute accepts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for some of the programmes offered at the university. This rich list of recognised tests guarantees that gifted students, regardless of their background, can become a part of this great school and achieve their goals in the spheres of architecture, planning, and design.
