NSS College was started in 1964 and situated at Kollam, Kerala. This affiliated college is NAAC accredited and is located on a vast campus spread over 34 acres of land. NSS College has a strength of 1,513 students and 43 faculty members and provides students with 14 courses across the 6 degree programs. In terms of gender distribution, the institute has more female students majoring in undergraduate programmes at 71 percent while in postgraduate programmes, 90 percent.

This has encouraged the NSS College authorities to put up infrastructures that would complement the learning process of the learners. This knowledge resource centre, rated among the best in Kerala University affiliated colleges, comprises 46000 and above volumes of books, CD-ROMS, journals and archived documents. It offers general services for instance OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) and questions banks of previous examinations.
