    Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research (PIAR) is a constituent college of Parul University, Vadodara, Gujarat, established in the year 2017 for the study and practice of Ayurvedic medicine at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. This premier institution has gained recognition from CCIM. The central campus of the university at Vadodara is spread over 150 acres of land area. Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research (PIAR) was established with the aim and vision to preserve and enhance the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. Having a total enrolment of 300 students being pursued by a faculty of 49 experienced individuals, PIAR offers 15 courses at 3 degree levels: undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral, all pertaining to the said field of study.

    Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research has a diversified range of facilities working toward students' academic and personal development. There are separate boys' and girls' hostels on campus that ensure that students coming from different parts of the country are well cared for and comfortable. The medical facilities are the pride of this institute: these include the 350-bed Parul Sevashram Hospital and the 250-bed Parul Ayurveda Hospital. Both hospitals run on a 24/7 basis, providing students with practical exposure to real-time clinical experiences and also high-end health facilities. For physical fitness, PIAR has a well-equipped sprawling 5,000 square feet modern gymnasium and aerobic arena with sophisticated equipment and qualified trainers. The campus also has swimming pool and sports facilities such as cricket grounds, basket ball courts, and others for an all-round development of students.

    Available here are numerous courses in Ayurveda, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The mainstay of the programmes offered is the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), a six-year full-time comprehensive course with an intake of 100 students. Postgraduate programmes at PIAR include various MD and MS programmes in specialised branches of Ayurveda, all three-year-long, with a total intake of 6 students per specialisation. It comes under Ayurvedic Disciplines, including Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Dravyaguna, and Shalya Tantra.     Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research (PIAR), Vadodara, is among the newest constituent colleges of the University of Parul for offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Ayurvedic medicine. The PIAR admission process is likely designed to admit only students who are fully dedicated to the programmes but are also capable of meeting the requirements. PIAR also offers various courses across the three degree levels: undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral, all dealing with Ayurvedic studies, totaling 15 courses. The PIAR admission cycle normally runs parallel with the academic year that commences around August-September. To be considered for undergraduate admissions, applicants to PIAR must merit in their 10+2 assessment, very specifically regarding science subjects. Admission onto postgraduate courses will also be based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG), which would be a national competitive examination for Ayurvedic postgraduate entry.

    The programmes have different eligibility criteria. The criteria for the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) programme stipulate that candidates must score 50% in NEET and undergone Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their 12th standard examination. Candidates need to qualify for PG-NEET with a minimum of 50% marks for admission to the postgraduate programmes. All the important dates relating to NEET PG counselling, which is significant for taking admission into postgraduates, usually fall in January. For example, Round 3 processing of seat allotment will be conducted from January 1 to January 2, 2025.     PIAR Application Process

    The application process for PIAR is different according to the programme:

    For BAMS:

    • Clear NEET by scoring 50 percent and above
    •  Apply via the centralised admission process as per state/national guidelines.
    • Candidates must submit the required documents such as 10+2 mark sheets, NEET score card, and other relevant certificates as laid down by the institute.

    MD/MS Programmes Admission:

    • Qualify for NEET PG with a minimum of 50%.
    • Register for the common use of centralised counseling for Ayurvedic PG admissions.
    • Fill in the PIAR application form (where applicable separately).
    • Attend the counseling process as scheduled by the authorities. 
    • Submit the required documents, including BAMS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, NEET PG score card, and any other relevant certificates.

    BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery): The seat intake for the flagship undergraduate programme at PIAR is 100. It is a six-year, full-time, comprehensive course. Admission is through NEET and performance in PCB in 12th standard. Candidates must qualify for NEET with 50% marks.

    PIAR MD/MS Programme Admission Process

    MD/MS Programme: PIAR also offers a three-year programme in different specialised branches of Ayurveda for postgraduate study, each of which has an intake of 6 students. The branches of specialisation include:

    Eligibility for all MD/MS courses is through the PG-NEET score. Candidates have to secure at least 50% in PG-NEET to apply.
