Parul Institute of Ayurved and Research (PIAR), Vadodara, is among the newest constituent colleges of the University of Parul for offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Ayurvedic medicine. The PIAR admission process is likely designed to admit only students who are fully dedicated to the programmes but are also capable of meeting the requirements. PIAR also offers various courses across the three degree levels: undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral, all dealing with Ayurvedic studies, totaling 15 courses. The PIAR admission cycle normally runs parallel with the academic year that commences around August-September. To be considered for undergraduate admissions, applicants to PIAR must merit in their 10+2 assessment, very specifically regarding science subjects. Admission onto postgraduate courses will also be based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG), which would be a national competitive examination for Ayurvedic postgraduate entry.
The programmes have different eligibility criteria. The criteria for the BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) programme stipulate that candidates must score 50% in NEET and undergone Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in their 12th standard examination. Candidates need to qualify for PG-NEET with a minimum of 50% marks for admission to the postgraduate programmes. All the important dates relating to NEET PG counselling, which is significant for taking admission into postgraduates, usually fall in January. For example, Round 3 processing of seat allotment will be conducted from January 1 to January 2, 2025. Candidates may refer to the official website of PIAR and NEET PG notifications for particular deadlines and exam dates.
The application process for PIAR is different according to the programme:
