People’s Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, People’s University, Bhopal (PIHM) is an identified centre in hospitality education. This establishment of this constituent college was laid in 2007 and is located in the capital city of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. Located in a small area of 1.94 acres of land, PIHM provides programme specific learning environment for the students willing to build a career in hospitality industry. The institute has 8 dedicated faculties with a good experience in their field which helps them to pay personal attention to the students. Currently, PIHM has four focused degree programmes in hospitality and hotel management for students with diverse professional goals in this fast-growing field.

People’s Institute of Hotel Management boasts of having modern facilities in order to train students practically befitting the institute’s training objectives. Library being an integral part of learning process at PIHM consists of over 7070 books, periodicals, journals with digital library facility of Wi-Fi. PIHM courses are designed to meet the needs of the hospitality industry since it provides customised courses. The institute delivers 4 full time programmes encompassing Bachelors and Masters degrees. The BHMCT is a four-year programme for sixty students and the MHM is a two-year programme also for sixty students. Further, by the distance learning programmes, PIHM provides the 3-year BBA in Hospitality and Hotel Administration and the 3-year B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration. These are general programmes which prepare student for the hospitality industry by providing academic as well as professional knowledge that is mandatory for the hospitality industry.

Admission into PIHM is on first come first served and is very simple as it is based on merit. For the MHM programme, the admissions are offered on the basis of merit of the qualifying exam only. Such approach guarantees that the candidates who are motivated and possess great academic performance, can be provided with a chance to follow their dreams of becoming hospitality managers. Some of the campus facilities include a bank, an ATM, post office, shops, food area, a hospital, a canteen, a chapel, an assembly hall and a gym.
