Post Graduate Extension Centre, Dharmapuri, was established in 2012 under the aegis of Periyar University, Dharmapuri. At the Post Graduate Extension Centre, Dharmapuri, students have the opportunity to pursue a diverse range of courses across various disciplines. Doctoral admissions are given based on scores acquired by the students in the entrance examinations. Students with  UGC-NET, SET, UGC-CSIR (NET), GATE, Teacher Fellowship holders, and M.Phil. degree holders are exempted from the exam.
