PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (PSGRKCW) was established in 1963. The institute becomes autonomous since 2004 and the UGC confirmed with 'College of Excellence' status to the college in 2016. PSGRKCW is in the 10th position among colleges in India as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020.
The institute offers 32 undergraduates, 13 postgraduate and 13 M.Phil/PhD programmes in arts, science, commerce, business administration, and computer science. Alumni Association: PSGRKCW has good networking for the alumni association. Alumni Association was formed to bring together alumni and well-wishers, to create a force that binds alumni, well-wishers, faculty and students together that provides support to the fulfilment of the institute's mission.
Grievance Redressal Cell: The Grievance Redressal Cell attempts to address genuine problems and complaints of students. Students are encouraged to use the suggestion boxes placed on different sections of the campus to express constructive suggestions and grievances.
Training and Placement Cell: This cell of PSGRKCW campus endeavours to provide the platform to the graduates and postgraduates by professionally working and reaching to the best companies for them. The cell has a tie-up with various organisations including the start-ups and multinational companies, which in turn help the graduates to discover and grab the various opportunities and to be a part of the industrial world.
NSS: The programme is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India. The National Service Scheme (NSS) was initiated in 1969-70 with a view to promote social consciousness and develop a sense of responsibility as well as a sense of discipline and dignity of labour among the youth of the University. The college regularly organises the community-based programmes to inculcate the spirit of service in students through its four units and 400 volunteers who participate in the credible, multi-dimensional service in the fields of education, environment, health, and skill development.
NCC: NCC fortifies character, command and discipline among the students. It provides framing for a career in the forces. NCC Cadet Crop of the PSGRKCW organises and trains youth and provides leadership in all walks of life including the Armed and Navy forces. It also creates a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forces.
Women Development Cell (WDC): WDC of PSGRKCW provides and maintain a dignified congenial working environment for women employees, this includes teaching, non-teaching, and contractual workers and students where they can work, study and explore their potential to the fullest.
Yoga club: PSGRKCW has Yoga club, which promotes healthy living through various activities.
