The RITM is an engineering college recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The RIT Visakhapatnam is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada.

The campus is well-designed with modern buildings and green spaces. The labs and the library is extensive. However, the hostel facilities are average, with issues in cleanliness and maintenance that need attention.
