Rairangpur College in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, came into existence in 1963 to serve as one of the premier colleges in the state. This affiliated college, located in a vast area of 10.46 acres, has been able to provide its services to the academic fraternity for the last five decades. As at now, the college has a total student enrolment of 1,210 and staff strength of 62 offering a diverse 13 courses in five degrees. Rairangpur College stands accredited by the NAAC to double up as a accredited college for quality education. 

In line with its goal, Rairangpur College has the following facilities needed in improving the learning process for students. In addition, a gymnasium to improve the students’ physiques besides having a college library to increase their knowledge with large stocks of textbooks, reference books, journals and periodicals. The library, open from 10:from 30 AM to 4:30 PM on working days, it is also provided with a reading room as well as a network centre that allows the research and preparation of assignments. Sports enthusiasts can wade in the large playground, which accommodates outside games like cricket, football, volleyball and badminton. The college also conducts Annual Athletic Meet and Inter College Sports and Games creating a sportive atmosphere. The academic facilities of this college include five well furnished laboratories for Chemistry Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics. It is also equipped with current facilities such as modern IT facilities, cafeteria, and an event/seminar hall and a mini supermarket where students can buy essential needs products.

At present, the undergraduate programmes are being offered in Rairangpur college includes thirteen courses in total of diverse streams. These are full-time degree programmes offered in Arts, Science and Commerce. The college offers both regular and honours curriculum that allow the student to major in his area of interest. The following courses are also offered: B.Sc in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology with honours option, B.A in Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science and Oriya (with honours option) and B.Com (honours). The total number of admission students that the college can accommodate is 1210.

The procedure for admission in Rairangpur College is that it is open for all students and have merit quota. The college has provision for merit and the performance in some of the entrance test is also taken into consideration. In fact, one of the objectives adopted by Rairangpur College is to serve the educational needs of students of all classes especially those who cannot afford to pay their fees.
