Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy came into existence in 2005 and it is affiliated college situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Located in a small piece of land of 1.3acres, the institute has the specialization of providing education in physiotherapy only. With a strength of a total of 216 for student intake and having faculties of 8, the college gives more concentration. The institute offers two degree programmes: a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) programme and Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) program to cover the undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy aims to offer quality education to the students in the specialised area of physiotherapy The primary goal of this institution is to produce trained professional physiotherapists who want to build a productive career in the health care sector.

The college provides a number of amenities to facilitate the learning process and personal growth of its learners. The learning resource centre is well stocked with 877 books in various areas of specialty, 109 titles, and 2 periodicals. It also has ten advanced computer stations for Internet connection and an electronic resource search. The college auditorium, with over 500 seating capacity, is used for conferences, workshops and seminars, amongst others. As for physical fitness, the spine of a gym, including a multi-gym, various kinds of machinery and free weights, is presented. Also part of the infrastructure is a cafeteria for North/South Indian delicacies and the Kotak Mahindra bank branch for easily accessible banking facilities on campus. There are hostel for males and females, while the university will build more hostels to accommodate 2500 students each for males and females with single room and sharing options. Common and leisure activities include cricket ground/football ground, tennis court, basketball court, volleyball court, and indoor games such as Table tennis and chess. Other student facilities include a swimming pool and means of transport.

Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy provides a specific set of programmes with two core curricula called physiotherapy. BPT, as mentioned above, is a full-time course that is of 4 years duration and the intake capacity of the college is 60 students per year. Fig. 2.3 The Bachelor of Physiotherapy Course Structure It is a professional course recognized by the Indian Association of Physiotherapists, and the course structure is mentioned below. The Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) programme is a two-year full-time postgraduate programme that offers admission to thirty students. As it will be discussed in the section on curriculum requirements for both courses, both courses are intended to equip the students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in physiotherapy. This is a total of student for all the courses offered in the institute An important fact that has been observed is that the institute limit the intakes to maximum 90 students to enhance the student enrollment ratio, which in turn individually focuses all the student.

Like for all the courses offered, Rajarajeswari College of Physiotherapy also follows merit-based admission, especially for courses named Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT). The college also gives priority to the students it chooses to offer the physiotherapy program with an emphasis on the students’ academic prowess in this subject.
