I am currently pursuing BAJMC for my college. The quality of teaching is great. The faculties there are well qualified , they explain everything in a great manner making every concept clear to the students. There are multiple group discussion session as we are media student. Not only on theory, but also the curriculum focuses on practical knowledge approach. Yes, the curriculum is well updated as well as the course gives us practical knowledge which makes us job ready .

JIMS VK is known for its placements. The quality of placements has been amazing. Most of the students got placed from this college and get a good package in their respective fields be it any course. The average package for the placement is 3-7 lpa. The highest can go even more than that.

The campus life is good at JIMS VK. The students get so much of exposure as there are multiple activities , guest lectures , fests and a lot more going on. The location is a good location though the metro connectivity right now is not there. Metro stations are about 4 km far from college.

There is a big playground in our school and also a badminton court. There is a canteen where very hygienic quality foods are served. But the negetive thing is that there is no hostel facility.

The overall academics are literally outstanding, there teaching styles, understanding a concepts are very good. Our college is affiliated to MAKAUT , and the curriculum which is followed here as same as the AICTE curriculum which is to be honest a little bit backdated.

The placement oppertunity is more or less average. The highest package which is offered here is almost 10 LPA from CSE department. From our department ECE the average placement is around 5LPA. The students pursuing 6th semester can seat for placement. The top recruitment companies are Infosys, Cognizant, Capegimini, P360.

The classrooms are clean and big as well as equipped with projectors. Some labs have very old and faulty equipments but we were able to manage. The computer labs on the other hand are upgraded with new systems, you can easily simulate high end circuits with ease. There is constant wifi connectivity in main building and library. Library is very well maintained with all books and papers you need with space to study there as well. Hostels on the other hand really need serious maintainance. The food quality is very bad to average. Drinking water is not very good as well. There are no well made tables or chairs in hostels, you have to buy them on your own. For sports there are 2 big grounds where you can play cricket and football. There is separate court for basketball and one for badminton. Except these there isn't anything else in sports department.

Acedemics is good overall, the professors and lab assistants are pretty knowledgeable and help you accordingly. I can't comment on other departments but the curriculum of our department is not according to current industry standards, but if you are willing enough to learn there are seniors who can guide you with different topics and domains as well as the college also conducts seminars where you can have more exposure. Assignements and class tests depends upon the respective professor, if they wish to conduct or not. You can have good exposure about industry trends if you participate in coding club(CODEIIEST) and other events. The only thing I wish is they should start offering Minor degrees for other courses as in IITs.

Placements are decent overall. 2024 is rough in placements but 2023 had many good offers. The highest for our department was somewhere 36lpa and lowest being 4-5 lpa. There are ample of companies that visit every year. Several companies like PWC, Accenture and TCS conduct mass hiring. Many of the software companies allows students from other branches to sit for assessments. In 2023 around 80% from our department were placed and many also secured admissions in foreign universities. The procedure is very straighforward, every notification comes on the SuperSet app, companies take online or offline Assessment tests and accordingly interviews. The placement cell helps students and recruiters for smooth onboarding and is very supportive.
Campus Life
Campus life is very fulfilling. There is plenty of space to walk around. There is one market where you can have almost everything you wish. Commuting is easy as well, there are buses going every 10 minutes of so to kolkata and howrah from there you can go anywhere you wish. All departments host their fests time to time to keep everyone engaged. Students from different corner of india come here, you'll make great friends and memories here. Some hostels have their separate small fields where you can play badminton and volleyball at night. There is one swimming pool which started few months ago, there is one time fee for admission.
