General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year, six-month full-time diploma program offered by Andhra Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council, Vijayawada.


Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Education Eligibility/qualification :

  • The candidate who has passed the Intermediate (10+2), HSC any equivalent exam(B.P.C, M.P.C, M.E.C, H.E.C, C.E.C) with English, and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board.
  • Students are also eligible for the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS)
  • The candidate who has passed the 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational, ANM 2 Years course from a school recognized by the State nursing council, with a bridge course.
  • The candidate who has passed the 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in the (MPHW) Vocational Stream-Healthcare Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.

Age Criteria :

  • The Minimum Age Limit for GNM Admission should be 17 Years. (As On 31st December of That Year)
  • The Upper Age Limit is 35 Years, and 3 3-year age relaxation in cases of SC, ST, BC Students.
  • ANM/ LHV, MPHW., There is no age limit.
