Satyam College of Education, Moga, was established in 2005 and is one of the leading colleges situated in Ghall Kalan, Ferozepur Road, Moga (Punjab). This co-educational institute is an affiliated college with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Situated in a 4.5-acre area, the college offers three professional courses in education with a total student capacity of 243 only. The institute has a faculty of strength 13 qualified faculties, so every student is given personal attention and quality education. It offers a plethora of programmes that build future educators in the field of education right from the B.Ed to the M.Ed. and, moreover, the D.El.Ed.
The college offers a variety of amenities to enrich student learning in lieu of what is required by the government. Immaculate library and reading hall with a rich stock of books, including Indian and foreign journals and periodicals in various education disciplines, provide a tone for developing the habit of self-learning. The functional space consists of playgrounds, statuary and recreational amenities, including those for indoor and outdoor sports and games, that will encourage exercise and physical fitness and the Democratic Spirit Team.
The college also offers an advanced information technology platform, an advanced departmental laboratory, practical classes, and updated classrooms. A health centre which has first aid equipment and a camp canteen provides student amenities. Female students who are more than 25 km away from the college have theprivilege to be housed in a spacious, comfortable and well-furnished girls’ hostel with all necessary mod cons.
Presently, Satyam College of Education, an affiliated College of Panjab University, Chandigarh, gives a total of three complete-time courses, out of which all of them consist of sharing qualified teachers. For total student intake capacity, the institute has a total of 243 students to offer, which enhances its student-teacher ratio. Huaje College has two programmes at the undergraduate level and one programme at the postgraduate level to prepare the teachers of their respective levels.
The SAT; SAT;CAT score or marks secured by the candidate in their previous qualification examination are the criteria used for admission at Satyam College of Education. Similar to the BCA Program, the admissions in the B.Ed. program are also completed based on the merit of the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government, UT administration and this university for the 200-seat intake capacity.
The M.Ed. programme offered with 50 admissions also retains an admission procedure in sync with the state government or university or UT administration norms. The 50 seats for D.El.Ed also invite merit in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination as per the state government or UT administration policy.
