SCB Dental College Hospital Cuttack, founded in 1983 is one of the premier dental colleges based in Odisha India. This affiliated college has recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and at present it has geared up with a vision to educate the dental students for more than forty years. The college is located on fifty acres which provide an excellent atmosphere for learning and research. SCB Dental College caters for a total of 176 students’ enrollment and faculty members of 56, this makes it easy for students to seek individual attention from the faculty. The institution teaches various dental programmes for both under graduate and post graduate level and nurtures many branches in dental study.

As we have seen SCB Dental College Hospital avails herself with a range of appropriate facilities needed in its academic activities. Accompanying the campus is a well stocked library that plays the central role of a learning resource center for all students and members of the faculty. The college has a health center to show the importance of student’s health and there is provision for health first aid services for any cases of illness. To meet the spiritual andEverying needs of the different students the College provides accommodational facilities in the form of hostels and the students are provided accommodation based on their gender, male and female. Aware of the fact that the world had gone digital and internet was inevitable in learning process, the entire campus has been connected through Wi-Fi networks to make learning easier.

SCB Dental College and Hospital has a number of dental courses for the students starting from under graduate to post graduate. The college offers 10 courses in two degree levels including full time programmes for dental specialties. The center of attention among the undergraduate programmes is the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), with a total of 63 seats and with all dental sciences. In the postgraduate level, the college offers MDS course in 9 specialisations, and all of them have 3 seats for the students. Some of these specializations are; Oral Surgery, Paediatric and preventive Dentistry, Oral pathology, Prosthodontics and crown and bridge, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Periodontology, Public Health Dentistry, Oral Medicine and Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.

The SCB Dental College and Hospital follows guidelines while admitting students to its college and also admission tests are conducted based on the merit list. For the BDS programme, NEET, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is used for the selection of the candidates. Similarly, in order to get admission in the MDS programmes, candidates go through the NEET-MDS test. Such entrance tests help in enrolment of students that have solid preparation in the basic sciences and strength in aptitude for dental studies. The college also follows the existing standard procedure of admission procedure defined by the national dental education boards and they usually admit students once a year.
