UPES School of Computer Science laid its founding stones in the year 2003. The institute was formed through Uttarakhand State Legislature Act, namely UPES Act, 2003. It is a private co-educational institute. UPES School of Computer Science is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). UPES School of Computer Science also provides scholarship opportunities to the students.

UPES University Dehradun offers students admissions to various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in distinct specialisations namely civil engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, public administration, machine design engineering, mechatronics engineering, fine arts and big data analytics. Location 

UPES address reflects that the university campus is located near P.O. Bidholi Via-Prem Nagar, Dehradun. Being located near the main city, transportation is an easy deal for people travelling to UPES Dehradun. State-owned Uttarakhand Transport is the most feasible conveyance. Dehradun Railway Station is the nearest rail connectivity at a distance of around 22 km. Coming to air connectivity, Jolly Grant Airport (domestic) is almost 25 km from UPES campus.

UPES School of Computer Science Clubs, Committees and Councils

• Cultural Committee - Recreational activities such as music, dance and other activities are performed by the members of this committee. The UPES Dehradun University’s signature events such as Uurja and Ignite are conducted by annually. 

• Sports Committee - This committee at UPES Dehradun is responsible for promoting enthusiasm towards sports and games among students.

• Student Discipline Committee - The Proctorial Board supervises the student discipline committee at UPES University. Issues like ragging, racial/ caste discrimination, substance abuse, road traffic accidents, eve-teasing, and gender harassment are dealt with by the committee. 

• Gender Champions - A group of students at UPES Dehradun that conducts activities and creates an environment to strengthen gender equality and respect for women.

• S.E.E Ambassador - S.E.E. here stands for Student Engagement and Experience. SEE Ambassador is a unique way of  UPES to make students come forward to interact and volunteer for various events.

• Safety Rangers - The group conducts various activities to aware people of road safety measures.

• Socio Squad - Tech-savvy students work in partnership with the Marketing and Communications department of UPES Dehradun promoting the brand through the viewpoint of a student.

• Student Council (School of Business) - It is a non-political organisation established at UPES to give voice to student opinions and advance the welfare of students.

• Moot Court Committee (School of Law) - Moot court is a pseudo court that is an essential part of legal studies. It provides law students with a pedestal to develop their oratory, writing and persuasive skills.

• Health Safety Environment Department (UPES Nursery) - The Women Technology Part Project’s nursery was converted into UPES Dehradun’s nursery back in September 2018. The members of the student committee perform the cleaning, plantation, watering and other maintenance chores at the nursery.

• Student’s Placement Representative - The student placement representatives (SPRs) at UPES work simultaneously with the Career Services Department of the University. They help plan, communicate and spread information about the recruiters around the campus during placement drives.

UPES School of Computer Science - Infrastructure and Facilities

The UPES School of Computer Science facilities includes indoor and outdoor sports for the students. Modern arrangements are made for sports like Table Tennis, Lane Tennis, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Squash, throwball, Carrom, Chess, Kabaddi and plenty of others. UPES School of Computer Science has good accommodation facilities for students. The Security and housekeeping are taken care of by the Institute. The food at the hostel is professionally controlled and served with quality & hygiene. The hostel also has a medical facility aided with a doctor & nursing staff along with a 24X7 Ambulance provider. The hostel premises also have an ATM and Laundry centre with automated washing machines

The UPES School of Computer Science has a well-designed computer centre keeping in mind the special needs of the Computer Science students. UPES Dehradun has an advanced computing centre with a network of more than 9000 computers. Talking about the advanced infrastructure facilities provided by the UPES School of Computer Science, there are design labs for different purposes located at the institute’s campus. The institute has digital labs equipped with powerful systems for 2D and 3D simulations.

UPES School of Computer Science Courses

The school offers a total of 29 courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. UPES School of Computer Science courses is offered in full-time mode only. Engineering and Architecture, Computer Application and IT, Animation and Design, Management and Business Administration, and Sciences are the streams in which UPES School of Computer Science courses are offered.

UPES School of Computer Science Admission

UPES School of Computer Science offers students admissions to several undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Candidates are given admission to different courses at UPES School of Computer Science on the basis of their class 12 marks or their performance in the UPES entrance test. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, UPESEAT had been cancelled this year and the admission process for different courses offered by the institute on the basis of 10th and 12th standard marks. 

UPES School of Computer Science Admission Process for UG Course -B.Tech 

• Appear for UPESEAT/JEE Main/SAT examination.

• Apply on the official website of the institute.

• Selection will be based on the marks scored in the UPESEAT/JEE Main/Board Merit/SAT examination.

• Submit the document and pay the fee to confirm admission.

UPES School of Computer Science Admission Process for B.C.A (Bachelor of Computer Applications)

• Apply online for admissions.

• Appear for a personal interview.

• Shortlisted candidates will be given a provisional offer letter.

UPES School of Computer Science Scholarships

There are various UPES School of Computer Science Scholarships available for students with exceptional merit and academic qualifications. The UPES School of Computer Science Scholarships are given to eligible candidates in the form of tuition fee discounts. These scholarships are offered to students who perform exceptionally well in the screening process and tests. 

Merit-Based Scholarship

• Merit-based scholarships will be offered to candidates who have secured an aggregate of 80% marks in classes 10 & 12 & 80% marks in PCM for B.Tech (All Streams) in CBSE/ ICSE / State Examination Board. Merit-based scholarships will be limited to only 10% of the total seats in each B.Tech course.

• Students will be awarded scholarships on the basis of merit only.

• Continuation of Scholarship in the subsequent years will be as per the University policy Scholarship Amount.

• 50% on the Tuition fee of the first Semester.

Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers

• One seat will be reserved in each course on the basis of merit.

• The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand resident students.

• Candidates availing this scholarship must have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate).

• Students will be entitled only for 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through the Uttarakhand Resident category).

• Scholarship in subsequent years will be as per the merit scholarship policy of the University.

Scholarship Amount

• 25% of a tuition fee waiver for Boys and 35% for Girl students in the first year.

UPES School of Computer Science Cut Off

The UPES School of Computer Science cut-off is released after the entrance test UPESEAT is conducted. Candidates who qualify the cutoff will be considered eligible for the admission process. The authorities decide the UPES School of Computer Science cut off on basis of factors like difficulty of the paper, number of seats available, number of candidates appearing in the exam, and previous year’s cutoff trends.
