The total number of scholarships available is up to 2335 (out of these all girl students who score more than 60% marks in class 12th). Scholarship will be awarded up to 30% (tuition fees only) and awarded if acceptance fees are deposited within timelines. |
Scholarships for Uttarakhand Bonafide Student | 30% concession on tuition fee | This scholarship is for a student who is a Uttarakhand Bonafide resident. Gross family income is not more than Rs. 12 lakh per annum. |
Fellowship for MTech programmes | Scholarship upto Rs. 12,400 per month | Students admitted to the M.Tech course with a valid GATE score of 75 percentile and above will be considered for a scholarship. Minimum SGPA / CGPA 8.5 in the first Semester and subsequent semesters/ year. Passed every semester on the first attempt without any supplementary or improvement exam. Obtained a minimum of 75% attendance in the entire semester. |
Freeships | N/A | This scholarship is for students who come from the economically weaker section. Upper age limit for UG and PG programmes- is 20 and 25 years. Family income under the EWS category is to be up to Rs.8 lakhs per annum from all sources. As the free ship is only for one year, the renewal of free ships in the subsequent semester will be based on the 6.0 SGPA /CGPA in the last exam passed. |

Academics
When it comes to academics the subjects are well divided, some have final exams and some are continuous evaluation based, making learning more engaging, practical and fun. Every semester includes an average of 7-8 courses excluding minor courses.
College Infra
The college is equipped with necessary labs and classrooms which include charging sockets and projector. The campus is clean and well maintained with many cafes and eating areas for students to relax and hangout.
Campus Life
The campus is a well managed 30 acre space equipped with all the necessary amenities. Nestled in the hills it always provides a scenic view throughout the year, if nothing else breath taking surroundings are always guaranteed.
Placements
There are no out of the blue placement here, if you really want a good job you have to work very hard for it. Placements largely depends on the companies that visit the college but there are dedicated placement officers appointed that guide and help students during placements.
Value For Money
Well the average packages are not so satisfying after paying chunk of money. In simple words ROI is not that great.

the university has some highly qualified faculties, and advanced curriculum. The university provides access to advanced research centers.
the only thing I don't like is the over hectic schedule of exams, especially for the even semesters.
College Infra
With facilities like gym, multiple sports court, and a dedicated auditorium, and a dynamic environment. Events such as Spandan and Uurja, along with clubs ensure a balanced blend of academics and extracurricular activities.
Campus Life
We have the best campus life compared to any other college. There are clouds coming over your head every other hour after it rains.
The hostel itself feels like a luxurious hotel room. Love the nature surrounding campus. You'll love it.
Placements
Well UPES does attract a wide range of top - tier companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Accenture, Godrej, etc. The active placement cell provides support ensuring students are well prepared to get recruited in top tier companies.
Value For Money
Well an average student pays around 20 lakhs to graduate with the computer science department.
it actually depends on the student, if they work hard and maintan an average CGPA of 8.5, they can easily secure a placement of around 20 lakhs.

I'm studying computer science because i am really interested in coding.
The curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. the study would be make me job ready.
the professors are really helpful.
the quality of teaching is top notch.
but the exams schedule is quite hectic
College Infra
It is a beautiful campus.
We have gym, multi activity center (MAC), library, two cafes, sports areas, music clubs, dominos, Dunkin, etc.
There are eleven blocks for each department, for example school of computer science,
Campus Life
Campus life is fun. we have fests like URJA, UKTI each year
this year Javed Ali, Mam Khan had also come to the college.
Dehradun is such a nice place, and UPES is a beautiful campus so movies series are often shot here, keeping the environment engaging.

Placements
the highest package offered in the academic season was 33LPA for the computer science department.
big companies like AMAZON, ONGC, Microsoft, dell, Accenture, Adani Godrej often reach to the campus.

My four years fees for btech is going to be 20 LAKHS AROUND.

The hostel fees of school of computer science University of petroleum and energy studies is 1.57 lacs per year. The hostel fees can rise up to 1.98 lacs per annum according to the number of facilities you choose. This includes the mess fees as well. There are various other facilities as well provided to the students. These facilities are internet, 24 hours electricity and water supply. Power backup system is also there. The hostel rooms are distributed on sharing and single basis. The hostel also provides cooler facilities water purifier, geyser etc.

what kind of scholarships are offered by the college for pursuing btech
Hi Aparna, there are a variety of scholarships offered by colleges in different regions. Based upon the quota that they have could be primarily SC-ST quota, Minority quota, Females from a financially weak background and so on. To apply for these scholarships, they demand for some legal documents such as OBC certificate and so on.
