The School of Environment and Architecture, Mumbai is an institute from 2014; therefore, it is relatively new, yet has set the standards for architectural education far too quickly. This affiliated college is located at Borivali West, and the Council for Architecture approves it while trying to provide it with the best standards of education. The institute grants a five-year undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) which has special emphasis on the environment. The campus area is compact at 0.4942 acres, and the institution has an enrolment capacity of 199 students and a faculty of 14 making it relatively intimate. The School of Environment and Architecture rightly boasts of the state-of-the-art facilities provided to students in pursuit of learning.

School of Environment and Architecture library acts essentially as a treasure house of knowledge since it contains a wide variety of books and periodicals, ranging from architecture to design, art, technology, landscape, history, philosophy, sociology, and literature. It has an archive of drawings and maps and continues to grow into a treasure trove of rich resources for investigation and inspiration for the student. The library, with inviting timings between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM on weekdays and Saturday, provides ample access for students. Breaking a unique gesture of academic collaboration, the doors of the library are thrown open to students from other colleges on Thursdays, sowing the seed of 'shared learning.' Laboratories and workshops are well-equipped, amply reflecting the hands-on approach of this premier institute. The material lab, survey levelling lab, and carpentry workshops have been placed on the ground floor and alongside the outdoor courts. This is enough to enable students to shift between theoretical work and practice with ease. The IT infrastructure reinforcing this pedagogical philosophy as it enables students to become conversant with the latest computer programs used in modern architectural design. It has sports facilities and a canteen for relaxation and social purposes, hence offering a balanced atmosphere for the growth of the individual and academics. 

At present, it has just one flag-ship programme under the School of Environment and Architecture. This course is B.Arch, a five-year intensive full-time course with a prescribed intake of 40 students per year to provide individualized attention and quality education. The designing of the five-year course is such that it would impart the fundamental knowledge of architectural principles while focusing on environmental considerations in design.

Admission for the course is done on the centralised admission procedure adopted by the state. Those who are eligible have to get themselves registered with the Directorate of Technical Education / State CET Cell for Centralised Admission Process.

The Institute accepts scores of National Aptitude Test in Architecture, a standardised test to evaluate the aptitude of the candidates for ARCHITECTURAL study, thus ensuring that admitted students possess basic skills and creativity to handle such a rigorous course as B.Arch. The School of Environment and Architecture is an extremely young institution, therefore, it gains its reputation within this field of architectural education. However, granting approval from the Council of Architecture and the concern regarding the environment in architecture give the school one step ahead.
