    About School of Law, VIT-AP University, Amaravati

    The School of Law, VIT-AP University, Amaravati, is the constituent college of the VIT-AP University, which was set up in 2019. This young college is situated in Inavolu, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh; the college has gained its unique place among the legal studies institutions. Accredited by the Bar Council of India, the college offers three enhanced programmes of Law, two integrated five-years programmes and one doctoral programme. The School of Law has a faculty of twelve committed educationists and seeks to offer standard education in law in a complex, computerised world. Vibrancy with coed features makes students of all genders come and study at the institute, creating a conducive environment. 

    Every type of legal facility that can be expected to complement the learning process of law students is available at  the School of Law. The classrooms are large and well equipped for all students’ needs, besides being fully furnished and well equipped technologically. A moot court hall with all modern facilities has the capacity to arrange a bench, bar, students’ bench, and witness box to give a real court experience. The library of the institute is well stocked and contains a number of textbooks, journals and law reports. It also has links to online legal databases like Manupatra and LexisNexis, which help in advanced searches of law. The computer lab with standard IT infrastructure helps students in their curriculum activities.

    The courses being conducted by the School of Law, VIT-AP University, are only three courses in number, and all of them are full-time. These are two Five Year Integrated Undergraduate Programmes namely the BA LLB (Hons.) course and the BBA LLB Hons courses, each having a sanctioned strength of 120 seats. The third offering is a Ph.D. programme in Law to afford a chance for further research in different spheres of the law. The undergraduate programmes and courses admit students up to a total number of 240.

    School of Law, VIT-AP University Application Process for B.A. LL.B. and BBA LL.B. 

    • The student is required to enroll for the CLAT entrance exam.
    • After the declaration of the CLAT result, students can participate in counselling.
    • During counselling, the student will have to apply for VIT-AP School of Law
    • Upon seat allotment, they need to get their admission as per the guideline given by the university.
    • Pay the required fees and submit necessary documents for verification.

    School of Law, VIT-AP University Ph.D. Law Application Process

    • Check the VIT-AP University website for Ph.D. admission announcements (January or June cycle).
    • Register for the School of Law, VIT-AP University Admission Test.
    • Appear for the entrance test (exempted for UGC-NET qualified candidates).
    • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview to defend their research proposal.
    • Chosen applicants are required to go through the admission procedure by providing all the required documents and payment for the respective programme.

    School of Law, VIT-AP University Eligibility Process

    CLAT counselling 2024 -25 will commence from December 2024 till January 2025, for the AY 2024-25. The payment of the confirmation fee through the consortium on freeze and float options will also be done; however, all admissions will be finalised by the respective NLUs. The eligibility criteria for undergraduate programmes generally include successful completion of 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Candidates are advised to check the specific eligibility requirements for each programme, as they may vary. The admission for the postgraduate programme is done by taking the VIT Research Admission Test and by interview. Candidates who have cleared UGC-NET, including JRF, are exempted from the entrance exam. However, they will have to defend their research proposal during the interview.

    School of Law, VIT-AP University, are only three courses in number. The requirements for admission to the School of Law, VIT-AP University, differ depending on the course.

    School of Law, VIT-AP University BA LLB Admission Process

    Intake capacity  of B.A. LL.B. (Hons) is 120 seats. Basis of admission will be CLAT scores. Fee for the five-year programme Rs. 8,10,000; candidates must pass 10+2 with appropriate subjects for the study of laws.

    School of Law, VIT-AP University BBA LLB Admission Process

    BBA LL.B. (Hons) is another five-year integrated programme with 180 seats available. School of Law, VIT-AP University admission to this programme is also similar to the B.A. LL.B. programme and is based on CLAT scores. The total fee for this programme is also Rs. 810,000.

    School of Law, VIT-AP University Ph.D Law Admission Process

    VIT-AP School of Law offers a distinct admission process in the Ph.D Law. The School of Law, VIT-AP University admissions are carried out twice a year—January Cycle and June Cycle. Candidates have to appear for the VIT Research Admission Test along with an interview. Those candidates who have already cleared UGC-NET (including JRF) are exempted from the entrance exam but need to defend their research proposal in the interview. The programme fee is Rs. 1,20,000.
