School of Medical Sciences and Research, Greater Noida, was started in 2009 under the aegis of Sharda University. This medical institute is situated in Knowledge Park III, Greater Noida, sprawling over a vast area of 63 acres. This college has recognition from the National Medical Commission and is offering a number of courses in the field of medicine. In this institute, a good faculty of 198 members ensures the delivery of quality education to the aspiring medical professionals.
School of Medical Sciences and Research is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to support its academic undertakings. There are separate boys' and girls' hostels within the campus that provide comfortable accommodation to students. One of the salient features is the 900-bed multi-speciality hospital, which is world-class and set with modern medical facilities like ICU, trauma centre, 3 Tesla MRI, CT Scan, ECG, X-ray, and advanced laboratory investigation units. It is open for long hours, particularly during the examination period. This allows the students to study without any break.
School of Medical Sciences and Research imparts education in various medical courses. The mainstay of this institute is the MBBS course, with an enrolment of 250 students. A good number of postgraduate courses are also offered by this college, including MD and MS in Anaesthesiology, General Surgery, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Radiodiagnosis, etc. The institute also offers M.Sc. programmes in the medical subjects of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Physiology. The MD and MS courses offered cover a wide spectrum of specialities like anaesthesiology, general surgery, paediatrics, general medicine, radiodiagnosis, etc. However, depending on the cycles of national examinations, the School of Medical Sciences and Research admission cycle tends to vary from year to year; NEET-UG is held mostly in the first half of the year, then comes the process of counselling and admission. For the next academic session, though, the counselling is distributed on January 1 and 2, 2025, for Round 3 seat allotment for NEET-PG.
