Sewa Devi SD College of Education, Tarn Taran Admission Process

Sewa Devi SD College of Education, located near Tarn Taran, is one of the topmost teacher training institutions in Punjab. It offers specialized education training and is recognized by NCTE. The entire procedure of admissions of Sewa Devi SD College of Education aims to select deserving students seeking B.Ed and M.Ed programs.  Admission to the college and its undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses is strictly on merit. So on the basis of the merit list, the candidates are allotted admission in the B.Ed. course considering the marks scored in the CET-Common Entrance Test held for affiliated colleges of Panjab University, Chandigarh, Punjabi University Patiala, and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Admission to the M.Ed.course too is based on merit as per the marks obtained in the qualifying examination/entrance examination or any other way as per the policy of the state government/university or UT administration.

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Ed: Sewa Devi SD College of Education, which offers the Bachelors of Education (B.Ed) degree program, has an intake of 100 seats and is approved as mentioned earlier. Admissions to the B.Ed program would be through common entrance test based on relative merit of the candidate. Allotment of seats would depend on the availability of the particular subject combinations subject to the reservation policy of the Government of Punjab. The objective of the program is to prepare students for various teaching careers at secondary and senior secondary levels.

M.Ed: There are 50 seats for the Master of Education (M.Ed) program, which is to be conducted on the basis of merit. Candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other selection process as laid down by state government, university, or UT administration. This two-year program aims to produce educational professionals capable of educational administration and advanced teaching roles.
