Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar, or SHKM, Nalhar, is amongst the most reputed medical colleges. The college, which began in 2012, sprawls over the land area of Mewat, Haryana. It is affiliated with the state government and holds approval from the National Medical Commission. SHKM Nalhar runs a plethora of medical courses/programs: 9 courses across 3 degree levels. The student enrolment in the college is 534, and the faculty strength is 83. The sanctioned intake for the MBBS course is 120 seats, while in most postgraduate courses, the limit is up to 3 seats. The admission procedure to this institute is solely based on merit and definite. In the case of the MBBS course, admission will be based on the results of a National Eligibility cum Entrance Test known as NEET-UG. Candidates need to qualify in NEET UG with subsequent counseling for admission to the said course. Admission to postgraduate courses such as MD and MS will be based on the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate, commonly known as NEET-PG.
